One of the most powerful connections in life is between a mother and her kids. Unfortunately, for many mothers with autistic kids is not possible to have this close connection because of this condition affecting more than 60 million people around the world.
There has been no scientifically-endorsed treatment for autism but Samsung wanted to provide the opportunity for these kids to train their social skills by making eye contact with their mothers and others too. Also provides the ability to recognize gestures from different feelings, because autistic kids can hardly distinguish emotions due to this missing eye contact.
With Samsung’s technology, it was possible to create an app for a camera with facial recognition that can detect expressions so they can be categorized at the same time that kids make eye contact with the person in front of them when they take pictures of them. The app is presented as a game where the kids can take a selfie and express their emotions too(after they trained for a few weeks the expressions recognition) and this will award them.

There’s no more to say with this branding example, how Samsung, a huge brand took the time and care to help with this social problem with autistic kids. This is an amazing example of how brands are touching their consumer’s heart by helping, in this particular case, autistic kids to improve social skills, recognize emotions and most important feel a closer connection with their mothers.
