“A life is not important except in the impact it has in other lives” Jackie Robinson
The world has many social problems, we all know that, and we also know that one single person or company can’t end those problems. But what if we try to impact just one community at a time, and share our concern with others who want to join us and help? Creative but mostly functional solutions are what we need to give to the world.
Another company that solves a social problem (just like Smile Squared), “The shoe that grows” idea was born when its founder, Kenton Lee, was living in Nairobi. He was walking next to a girl who had very small shoes for her size, and he wondered why? Then it occurred to him just how fantastic it would be to have a shoe that can expand and last while kids are growing. If that shoe existed, kids would always have a pair of shoes that fit.
These kind of ideas are the ones that #BRAIN-DING wants you to develop, because we truly believe that we can do something positive and with a social impact with our brands.
They struggled through rejection from shoe companies and failed attempts at prototypes. But they believed it was a good idea that could help a lot of kids.
The impact this company has in the kids that receive one “The Shoe That Grows” is changing their lives, because it helps to prevent foot infections so now they can have a better life quality.
If you’re thinking of take action for a good cause, involve not only the affected community, you can also ask to others who want to help. The Shoe That Grows has donators, but also has volunteers and people who travel because of their work or pleasure that carry shoes to affected communities. That is doing #BRAIN_DING, because they feel part of this awesome movement and cause so they volunteer and spread the emotion of being part of a company that helps others. So, we can conclude that maybe we won’t change the whole world by ourselves, but we can impact in people’s live in a very positive and unique way so they will always remember us and inspired others by us to keep doing good actions.
Let’s do #BRAIN_DING!
