LX Celsius is a meteorological app that reports the local forecast based on one of Lisbon’s iconic elements: the clothesline.
Based on this iconic element, the Lisbon City Council created an app that reports the local forecast. But more than that, it also suggests the perfect activities for that day’s weather, rain or shine. For example, on a sunny day it will suggest to go out for a walk in one of the city parks, and on a rainy day it will suggest indoor activities, like visiting a museum. The app also provides specific sounds for each season.
LX Celsius is an app that focuses on emotional connections that have an accurate reading in the region; this decision has a fundamental objective: to present the information in a simple and iconic way. This doesn’t mean that the app is exclusive for the people of this country, because there is the meaning of that image in our memory.
Leo Burnett Lisbon was the agency responsible for presenting the idea, and they executed it in a very clear way.
A good idea can be supported by the government; what we have to do is provide a specific response to a need from “the other side of the coin.” To understand our customers is to understand their environment, the things around them and the interactions they have with them every day.
The way in which we’re going to be remembered is linked directly with the emotional importance of our products or services. We have to pay careful attention to this detail when we are embarking on something new; it should not be the main focus of our effort, but it could help our brand have a better acceptance.
This is #BRAIN_DING!
